The 2012-13 Rays Offseason will be one of the most interesting in Rays
history. Is there even a chance BJ may come back? As a matter of fact, who will
come back? What are the top priorities for the Rays roster to fix? Will a member
of our successful 8 man pitching staff be traded?
All these questions are going through the mind of every Rays fan. To begin
with, the chances of BJ Upton coming back to play center at the Trop is truly
slim. BJ Upton would love to come back to play for the Rays but it cannot happen
because of the business side of baseball.
There are several key names that
will be unrestricted free agents this offseason. They include: OF BJ Upton, RP
Kyle Farnsworth, RP J.P Howell, IF Jeff Keppinger, 1B Carlos Pena, and RP Joel
Peralta. Expectations may be to bring Keppinger because of how well he did
hitting wise. Also, Howell and Peralta because of how great they have
contributed to our bullpen. Pena and Farnsworth have been seen to Rays fans as
players we may not need back.
David Price, James Shields, Matt Moore, Jeremy
Hellickson, Alex Cobb, Chris Archer, Wade Davis, and Jeff Niemann will one of
these 8 names be traded for offense? Many may say yes to that question because
stats show we need more offense to win more ball games. James Shields has
reached the 30 year age peak and he could give some value to a club and the Rays
may get some good valuable players for him. The question stays the same; Will
Andrew Friedman pull the trigger?
I am an avid sports fan, and my favorite sport of all is baseball. Baseball is my true love and passion. The rays have become my favorite team for the dedications the organization has to become successful. All the players and coaches and executives of the organization are people I look up to and someday I hope to become a MLB general manager for any of the 30 teams. I hope everyone that reads my blog enjoys what's on it and if there are any questions, comments or concerns. Just email me at email@example.com
